Tech Star Tuesday: Kendall Lauscher – From Audio to Atmosphere!

Meet Kendall Lauscher, one of the newest additions to the laser team. Someone who brings fresh energy, raw talent, and a hunger to learn. Based in Tampa Bay, Florida, Kendall is no stranger to big shows and loud crowds. But lasers? That’s a whole new adventure—and one he’s diving into headfirst.

Though he’s been in the events industry for over 12 years as an audio engineer, he only recently stepped into the world of laser lighting. And according to him, it was love he hadn’t met before.

“Laser lights caught my eye and piqued my interest,” he shares.
“I love the level of creativity you can bring to work doing lasers, and I really enjoy the excitement it brings to the audience.

A New Year, A New Chapter

Kendall’s first gig in lasers came on one of the biggest nights of the year: New Year’s Eve, at a show featuring none other than DJ Diesel (yes—Shaquille O’Neal).

He shadowed an experienced laser tech, soaking up everything he could—and even got to fire lasers live for some of the DJs that night.

“It was the most fun and excitement I’ve had in this industry since I first started mixing audio over a decade ago,” Kendall says.
That’s a big statement—and a clear sign he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

What He’s Learned (And What He Lives By)

Furthermore, with lasers, Kendall knows it’s not all just eye candy. There’s serious responsibility behind the scenes.

“Termination point safety is the number one priority,” he explains.
Whether it’s protecting the crowd from eye exposure, avoiding aircraft interference, or preventing equipment damage—focus and precision are everything.

As for advice to new techs? Kendall keeps it simple—and powerful:
“Always remain curious. The events industry rewards those who want to learn more.”

Beyond the Beams

Most recently, Kendall worked a multi-part event for a motorcycle club, handling a mix of meetings, ceremony lighting, wrestling matches and laser effects during the nighttime celebrations. It’s just one more example of how lasers are becoming a key part of diverse productions—and how Kendall is quickly proving he can handle the events at hand.

As he continues learning, exploring, and lighting up new spaces, Kendall brings his own niche to the team—blending a decade of show experience with a rookie’s excitement and creative eye!
