California has always been an important part of Slightly Stoopid’s story. So, bringing their music back to the Golden State felt right at home.
On October 8, the band performed at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, California. .
With an outdoor venue surrounded by Central Coast wine country, the evening offered a setting that suited the band’s relaxed musical style.
A Sound Rooted in California
Slightly Stoopid first emerged from Ocean Beach in San Diego. Since then, the band has developed a loyal following through its blend of reggae, rock, punk, and hip-hop.
Their music moves easily between laid-back grooves and upbeat performances. That variety has become a defining part of their live shows.
The Elovaters and DENM also joined the lineup.
Each brought a different musical influence to the evening. As a result, fans experienced a range of sounds that complemented Slightly Stoopid’s signature style.
A Concert in California Wine Country
Vina Robles Amphitheatre offers a unique setting for live entertainment.
Unlike an indoor arena, the amphitheatre provides an open-air experience. Its design also gives audiences a chance to enjoy live music in a more scenic environment.
Adding a Visual Element to the Performance
The production also featured laser visuals designed to complement the music.
Laser technician Mitchell Blakemore worked with six 58-watt KVANT lasers and six 6-watt KVANT ClubMax lasers with PASS.
The combination allowed for different visual looks across the performance space. Larger beam effects could create dramatic moments, while smaller systems provided additional detail.
Meanwhile, the band’s changing musical styles gave the production opportunities to explore different colors, patterns, and effects.
The lasers supported the performance without shifting attention away from the artists.
The California Run Begins
The Paso Robles concert marked an important stop as Slightly Stoopid began its Cali Road Trippin’ performances.
It also brought the band’s music back to the state where its story began!
