Downtown Marianna, Arkansas, welcomed Autumn on the Square on October 3. The annual celebration brought the community together in the city’s historic downtown.
The event offered a chance to enjoy fall close to home. Later in the evening, the square became the setting for a municipal laser light show.
This year’s production featured Through the Ages. The timeline-inspired show paired music from different eras with colorful laser visuals.
Fall in the Heart of Marianna
Autumn on the Square is rooted in community.
The historic downtown setting gives residents and visitors a central place to gather. It also creates a welcoming backdrop for a seasonal celebration.
As the day moved into evening, the entertainment took a different direction. Music and laser visuals became part of the experience.
A Journey Through Music
Through the Ages was designed around the client’s music.
The timeline concept moved through different periods and sounds. As the music changed, the visual presentation changed with it.
That approach helped create variety without losing the overall theme. It also gave the audience a fun way to experience familiar music in a new setting.
Creating the Show
Laser technician Mark Jankowski operated four 10-watt lasers for the production.
The visuals were busked to the client’s music. This allowed the laser cues to follow the soundtrack in real time.
The setting added another interesting element. Historic downtown Marianna provided the backdrop for a modern visual show inspired by different musical eras.
A Fresh Addition to a Local Celebration
Autumn on the Square celebrates the season while bringing people into the heart of Marianna.
This year, Through the Ages gave the evening its own creative finish. Music connected the different eras. The visuals gave each one a new look.
It was a fresh addition to a community event that continues to make downtown Marianna a place to gather each fall.
