A brand-new music festival. A waterfront stadium. And a lineup packed with live music.
Island Rhodes Music Festival made its debut at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, bringing two days of music and coastal energy to the banks of the Seekonk River. Rebelution joined the festival lineup and brought their signature sound to the stage.
Then, as the evening rolled on, the visuals took things up another level.
Adding Some Color to the Island Vibes
With six 42-watt KVANT lasers in the mix, bold beams stretched across the stadium and above the crowd. Some moments flowed smoothly with the music. Others brought brighter, bigger looks as the energy picked up.
Meanwhile, the waterfront surroundings created a unique backdrop for the performance. Music filled the stadium while colorful effects moved overhead, giving festivalgoers plenty to take in from every direction.
Behind the Controls
Dynamic FX Laser Technician Shane Martz took control of the laser production for Rebelution’s set.
Using live busking, Shane could follow the music as it happened. That freedom allowed each song to take on its own visual style. Instead of simply running through a programmed sequence, the effects could change with the mood and energy coming from the stage.
A New Festival Finds Its Rhythm
Island Rhodes brought something new to Pawtucket. In fact, the festival marked the first concert event held at Centreville Bank Stadium. With national touring artists taking the stage throughout the weekend, the new waterfront venue quickly found a different kind of rhythm.
Rebelution fit right into that setting.
As the music played and lasers swept across the stadium, the crowd got to enjoy the easygoing sound of Rebelution with a much bigger visual punch overhead.
