On Friday, September 11th, 2026, the community of Burnsville, Minnesota, came together for an evening with a deeper meaning.
As part of the Burnsville Festival & Fire Muster, the night marked the 25th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. It was a time to remember those who lost their lives, recognize the courage of first responders, and reflect together as a community.
Then, as evening settled over Burnsville, a powerful tribute reached into the sky.
A Tribute That Could Be Seen from Afar
Bright beams rose above the festival grounds, creating a simple but meaningful symbol of remembrance.
The display featured two KVANT Architect 500 sky lasers and three 60-watt KVANT lasers. Rather than being used simply for entertainment, the light carried a different purpose that evening.
It invited people to look up, reflect, and remember.
Behind the Tribute
Laser Technicians Gary Bourassa and Charlie Tornquist were behind the laser production.
Creating a display for an occasion like this called for a thoughtful approach. The goal wasn’t to overpower the moment. Instead, the beams became part of the larger tribute taking place throughout the evening.
Burnsville Remembers Together
The festival also honored the anniversary with a special aerial drone show dedicated to the first responders of September 11, as well as Burnsville’s own first responders and fallen heroes.
Twenty-five years have passed since September 11th, 2001. Yet the importance of remembering remains.
On this September evening in Burnsville, the community looked to the sky together—in honor, in gratitude, and in remembrance.
