Not every laser tech finds their passion right away — however it was an easier decision for Patrick. Based in Orlando, Florida, he has spent the last 13 years turning stages into fully immersive laser experiences. And it all started with one moment that changed everything.
The Spark That Started It All
Patrick wasn’t planning to work with lasers. But fate had other plans.
“It was one of the first concerts I was working production for. I met the lasers guys and they showed me what they do and it opened my eyes,” he recalls.
That behind-the-scenes look into laser operation hit different. The impact was instant.
“Lasers are and have always been the future of cutting-edge stage production. And over the last decade I’ve watched every tour only adapt more and more lasers.”
He stepped into the industry — locked in and never looked back.
Major Shows, Massive Moments
Patrick’s resume speaks for itself. He’s helped create unforgettable visual moments on some of the industry’s biggest stages.
“2018 operating lasers for Zhu at Imagine, and LSO for Lost Lands 2019/2021 as well as Disney’s 2023 NYE.”
Each show pushed his skills further. From live EDM sets to fully programmed fireworks-laser hybrid shows, adapted, learned, and leveled up — time and time again.
Pressure? Bring It On.
Of course, with experience comes responsibility. And Patrick has taken on some big ones.
“Lead operator for Epcot NYE 2023 laser show in Italy.”
That role wasn’t just about timing — it was about trust. He had to deliver under pressure, across departments, and in front of thousands counting down to midnight.
No do-overs. Just execution.
His Advice for the Next Generation
With Patrick being in the game long enough to know what separates good from great. And he’s got a message for the up-and-coming laser techs:
“Play the keys. A freestyle laser show can really blow people away in a feel-the-music way. Time-code all your favorite music in BEYOND for practice.”
In other words: don’t just push buttons. Learn the rhythm. Build the feel. Turn the console into an instrument.
What He’s Working on Now
Patrick’s latest project? Epic Universe – Monsters Unchained. Another big step, another big canvas. And another chance to blend precision with creativity.
