This week on Tech Star Tuesday, we’re featuring Darius Sakalas, based out of Miami. Over the past five years, Darius has continued to grow his presence in the laser industry while bringing immersive visuals to festivals, tours, and productions across the world.
And for Darius, the path into lasers happened naturally.

Since then, the journey has taken him across multiple countries, major festivals, and large-scale productions.
Building Shows Around the World
Over the years, Darius has worked on productions throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and North America. At the same time, several moments continue to stand out as major personal achievements.
“Ultra/ REΞSISTΛNCΞ Miami residency design/ op 4 years and counting— SFX/ laser tech for largest North American stadium tour of 2025.”
Those opportunities helped expand both his experience and creative vision.
At the same time, some of the most meaningful moments came much closer to home.
“The highest of very personal achievements are a pre programmed show for a winter lighting festival in my home country of Lithuania which ran for 3 months prompting national news media outlets to publish articles on me.”
Another standout project brought family and creativity together.
“And a projection mapping/ laser collaboration with my father a renowned abstract painter on a large building during Miami’s Art Basel”
Balancing Safety and Creativity
For Darius, production always starts with responsibility.
“Safety first, then dazzling the audience members with beautiful beams”
That balance continues to play an important role in every production and live experience he helps create.
Advice for Future Laser Technicians
When it comes to newcomers entering the industry, he encourages patience, humility, and learning from others.
“Follow your heart, set ego aside, shadow and absorb all you can from anyone who lets you.”
That mindset continues to help shape growth both personally and professionally.
Recent Events and Global Performances
Most recently, Darius has remained busy with Resistance Season 3, while also traveling internationally between shows and festivals.
“Resistance season 3 with every small gap between shows taking me abroad to various festivals.”
Along the way, he has worked alongside artists including Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Vintage Culture, ARTBAT, Korolova, Miss Monique, CamelPhat, Solomun, Sara Landry, and Yousuke Yukimatsu.
