Based in New York City, Ashley Adkins has spent the last five years building her path in the laser and lighting industry. Her journey began not from a technical background, but from being a passionate fan.
Finding Inspiration in the Crowd
Ashley recalls how it all started. “I went to shows and festivals all the time, and if there were no lasers, I would say in my head, ‘Where’s my refund?’” That reaction sparked her curiosity and, eventually, her career. She decided to take that fascination and turn it into something she could be a part of.
Career Milestones
Like many in the industry, Ashley’s progress came with time and persistence. One of her proudest achievements came early on. “When I got my first festival contract on my own.” That moment represented not just success, but independence — proof that hard work pays off.
Responsibility on the Job
For Ashley, technical skills are only part of the job. Her biggest responsibility, she says, is simple but vital. “Making sure the client is pleased.” Every show, every cue, and every detail matters. Because at the end of the night, satisfaction is the real measure of success.
Advice for the Future
When asked what advice she’d give to new technicians entering the field, Ashley doesn’t hesitate. “Networking is key.” Building connections, she believes, is just as important as mastering the gear. Relationships open doors and help new talent find their place in the industry.
Recent Work
Most recently, Ashley worked as a laser operator and technician for Twinsick at Terminal 5 in Manhattan. It was another chance to combine creativity, precision, and professionalism — values she continues to carry with every project.
From concert halls to festivals, Ashley Adkins continues to carve out her space in the world of laser entertainment — one beam at a time.
