The September 27 performance brought fans to Regency Furniture Stadium for the final day of the festival, with Don Toliver taking his place at the center of Sunday’s action.
It was a big name for a big setting—and the production was ready for it.
Camp SOD Gets the Full Treatment
A set like this already comes with plenty of personality. At Camp SOD, the visual side of the performance had the space to go big too.
Dynamic FX’s Thaddeus Tompkins handled the lasers using 12 60-watt KVANT units.
With that much power spread across the production, the lasers could reach well beyond the stage and become part of the view from around the stadium.
However, the goal wasn’t simply to make everything brighter.
The better moments came when the visuals worked with the music. Bigger sections could open up across the venue, while other parts of the set could stay focused on Don Toliver and the stage.
Sunday Belonged to Don Toliver
That’s really what the night came down to.
Fans came to Camp SOD to feel the vibes, and the production was there to make that experience happen without getting in the way of it.
Thaddeous had plenty of laser power at his fingertips.
